Our Networks

Over more than 20 years, the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) has built up an amazing network of diverse, high-quality institutional and private contacts. This network is a key element of its activities.

THE PRINCIPALITY’S LEADING BUSINESS NETWORK

With more than 600 member companies across all sectors of the economy, the MEB works at the heart of the Monegasque ecosystem. Thanks to its detailed knowledge of companies, the MEB promotes interaction, dialogue and collaboration, and this wealth of communication makes an active contribution to Monaco’s vibrant economy.

A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP

WITH THE MONEGASQUE GOVERNMENT

The MEB is the operational arm of the Government responsible for promoting and assisting the growth of Monegasque companies. It partners closely with the Principality’s diplomatic and consular network, which has a presence in more than 150 countries. At home, it works together on an ongoing basis with the various entities that contribute to Monaco’s economic vitality and attractiveness.

A PERMANENT LINK WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE KEY PLAYERS IN MONACO’S ECONOMY

The Board of Directors of the MEB includes representatives from the various professional organisations in the Principality (Federation of Monegasque Businesses, Monaco Association for Financial Activities, Junior Chamber International Monaco, Monaco Order of Chartered Accountants, Monaco Union of Traders and Artisans, Monaco Association of International Trading Companies). It also works with other business associations that have international links (Club of Monegasque Entrepreneurs in Africa, Sportello Italia, Monaco Brazil Invest Association, etc.). Finally, through its role in coordinating organisations that help to spread Monaco’s influence abroad, it works with numerous other high-value contacts.

As a result, the Monaco Economic Board has a thorough understanding of the Monegasque ecosystem, which drives its ability to promote synergies.

A KEY PARTNER

FOR CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE

Chambers of commerce are our natural partners when organising events designed to boost economic relations between Monegasque companies and the rest of the world. The Monaco Economic Board has signed nearly 40 cooperation agreements with organisations of this kind during economic missions or when hosting foreign delegations. They are key partners, particularly for organising business meetings.

AT THE HEART OF MONACO’S ECONOMIC COMMUNITY ABROAD

The Monaco Economic Board leads the Monaco Business Etranger network. Established in 2015, the aim of this network is to bring together the Monaco business community abroad and help these decision-makers to maintain and strengthen their links with the Principality’s key players. United by an attachment to Monaco, the network provides a series of anchor points for our economic missions abroad, as well as potential intermediaries for MEB member businesses with an international outlook.

THE OFFICES PROMOTING THE PRINCIPALITY

ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE

Initially created to promote and develop Monaco as a tourist destination under the supervision of the Government’s Tourist and Convention Authority, the Principality of Monaco’s Promotional Offices adapted in 2019 to add an economic aspect to their remit. The Monaco Economic Board coordinates the work of these offices in this area. The offices are based in Australia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.

They operate on a regional basis and are valuable intermediaries for promoting the economy. Above all, however, their understanding of the local environment means that they are able to offer significant logistical and networking support when we travel abroad. Thanks to an ongoing dialogue, the MEB is thus able to take advantage of economic information reported back from these various parts of the world.

DESTINATION MONACO

AMBASSADORS’ CLUB

The Destination Monaco Ambassadors’ Club brings together leading Italian economic decision-makers who have strong links with the Principality, and is supported by the Prince’s Government and the MEB. The network, which has more than 400 members and a presence in 13 cities, helps to spread Monaco’s influence at the highest levels and seeks to foster new business opportunities between the two nations. It also operates on a smaller scale in Romania. When it was first established, the club’s goal was to make its members advocates for Monaco as a tourist destination. However, its remit was enhanced and expanded, and it transformed into a valuable and influential business club for Monegasque companies seeking to grow in the region.

MEMBER OF THE INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The International Chamber of Commerce is the world’s foremost and most representative business organisation. It represents more than 45 million businesses in over 100 countries, which have interests across every sector of the economy. It is home to the World Chambers Federation, a platform for chamber leaders to communicate and collaborate with each other on matters of mutual interest, which also facilitates beneficial partnerships. The MEB is the Monegasque National Committee for the organisation.
