45th Members Rendezvous an undeniable success!

The 45th networking cocktail for Monaco Economic Board (MEB) members was held at the famous Monte-Carlo Beach and attended by 350 high profile people from the Principality’s business community, with Minister of Finance & Economy Jean Castellini invited to make the opening speech.

On Monday 26 June, MEB invited members to the last Members Rendezvous before the summer holidays against the backdrop of the legendary Monte-Carlo Beach’s fabulous pool. It was the perfect opportunity to exchange cards or discuss that contract/quote or have that chance meeting with someone who might spark an idea for a collaboration.  It’s no wonder given the setting and timing that the event was sold out.

After a word of welcome by MEB CEO Guillaume Rose, Monaco’s Minister of Finance and Economy Jean Castellini addressed guests, acknowledging that companies on the rise are having to make decisions “in a context that at worst provokes anxiety, at best uncertainty”. However, he did his best to reassure them by drawing on data from the latest edition of Monaco en Chiffres, revealed the week before to MEB members. “Figures don’t lie and in the Principality they are good, even very good,” he said.

He was followed by MEB Chairman Michel Dotta who focused on artificial intelligence. “There was a time when Monaco was a little behind digitally (...) today we are where we should be but it has taken a lot of effort to catch up. We must not make the same mistake with generative AI”. That’s why he announced that MEB is set to organise workshops on the topic.
Last to speak was Monte-Carlo Beach’s Managing Director, Danièle Garcelon who presented two new Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer facilities: the Club Vigie, open from 12 noon to 8.00pm offering catering and seaside resort leisure activities, and the Maona, a brand new summer cabaret concept that will be open from 1st July.

There were plenty of opportunities to network in the five-star setting and find out what MEB has in store when everyone returns from the summer holidays, starting with the next Members Rendezvous (19 September) preceded by a BtoB meetings session. Also on the agenda are two business talks (Jean-Pierre Petit on 15 September and Ludovic Subran on 16 October), participation in the Monaco Business fair with an Eco Club Special (3 October) and a Trade Mission to Amsterdam (21 to 24 November) for which registrations are now open.
