At the 57th Members’ Meeting, the MEB announces its development and a busy autumn programme
On Tuesday, 30 June, at the Muse Monte-Carlo restaurant within the Méridien Beach Plaza, the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) welcomed over 350 decision-makers to its final major gathering before the summer recess. The upcoming rebranding to Monaco Chamber of Commerce and an extensive programme for the months ahead were also presented to members.
In his introduction, Chairman Michel Dotta kept his remarks brief, emphasising that the entrepreneurs present were mainly there to meet one another and expand their networks: “The Members’ Meeting is the very essence of our DNA,” he recalled. He also confirmed the evolution in the MEB’s missions, which has prompted the organisation to reflect on its identity and designation. The Monaco Economic Board will therefore become, by the end of the year, the Chambre de Commerce de Monaco in French and Monaco Chamber of Commerce internationally, a new name that clearly reflects its stronger commitment to serving businesses in the Principality.
The CEO of the MEB, Guillaume Rose, also addressed the gathering. He began by praising the prompt response of the public authorities following the explosion in the Principality the day before, as evidenced by the enhanced security measures at this Members’ Meeting. He then outlined the key elements of a comprehensive programme for the autumn.
The agenda from September already features several high-profile conferences in various formats:
- A macroeconomic conference with Jean-Pierre Petit, Chairman of Les Cahiers Verts de l’Économie, in partnership with Jutheau Husson (11/09)
- A round-table debate under the Club Eco Monaco – Nice-Matin banner, integrated into the Monaco Business trade show programme, during which the MEB will sign an agreement with the public institution Corsican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (18/09)
- A technical conference, in partnership with the Monaco Institute of Chartered Accountants and 99 Avocats Associés, on the modernisation of company law (28/09)
- An export-oriented session, in partnership with French Customs (29/09)
International outreach will also be more than ever at the heart of the MEB’s activities, with two economic missions scheduled for the end of the year.
The first event will take place in Montenegro, in two stages: Podgorica and Porto Montenegro, from 13 to 16 October. The year 2026 will predominantly be the year of China: the mission will cover Macau and then Shenzhen in partnership with Monaco Telecom, following a stop in Hong Kong alongside Invest Monaco, during the first half of November. Concurrently, the Monaco Embassy in China will once again offer Principality-based companies the opportunity to participate free of charge in the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, within the “Monaco Pavilion”.
In the Principality, several foreign economic delegations are expected, some of which will include business leaders and lead to dedicated B2B sessions. This will occur as early as 9 October with the Federation of Small Businesses in Germany (BWA), under the auspices of the Monaco Embassy in Germany.
Finally, one important date to note in your diaries: the Club Eco Monaco Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 2 December, at the Grimaldi Forum.
In the meantime, the summer period will not be too long to prepare for this busy autumn and complete the MEB’s transition to a fully-fledged chamber of commerce.
The association will also have the opportunity to host its Premium Members at a special evening for them on 8 July. Additionally, Guillaume Rose will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Ljubljana Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia during an Invest Monaco mission on 20 July.
