Intellectual property, a key element for businesses!

18/04/2024

On the initiative of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), under the supervision of the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Monaco in Geneva and in close cooperation with the Monaco Economic Board and the Direction du Développement, a one-day seminar dedicated exclusively to intellectual property was organised for the first time in Monaco on Thursday 18 April.

In front of an audience of local business leaders and representatives invited by the Monaco Economic Board and Monaco Tech, Guillaume Rose, Executive Director General of the MEB, moderated this particularly instructive morning after a welcome from Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Department of External Relations and Cooperation and Sandrine Sauval Chanteloube , Director of MonacoTech.

Jean-Pierre Santos, Head of Division at the Monegasque Industrial Property Office, began by highlighting the dynamism of the country's innovation and creative market, and then presented the public measures designed to support it.
From Geneva, Mariana Vuitton Velasco and Guy Pessach , WIPO executives, also raised awareness among economic players of the advantages of industrial property tools and the services offered by specialised organisations, to maximise their company's potential on the national and international scene.
On a smaller scale, the afternoon was devoted to one-to-one workshops, bringing together intellectual property experts and representatives of MonacoTech and Monaco Boost start-ups to discuss the personalised results of the WIPO diagnostic tool and, where appropriate, outline a strategy based on intellectual property rights.
