MEB signs business cooperation agreement with AIIM & SPORTELLO ITALIA

02/03/2016

On Wednesday 2 March, the MEB signed a business cooperation agreement with two Italian associations in MonacoAIIM (an association for Italian entrepreneurs in the Principality) and Sportello Italia. The agreement was signed by MEB Chairman Michel Dotta, and the presidents of the two associations, Niccolò Caissotti di Chiusano for AIIM and Fabrizio Carbone for Sportello Italia. HE Mr Henri Fissore represented Monaco’s Minister for Finance and Economy and Giuseppe Folino represented Italy’s Ambassador in Monaco.

A first of this type for the MEB the agreement is in response to the Monaco Government’s desire to encourage bilateral exchanges between the Principality and countries represented here by non-profit organisations and to coordinate activities between these bodies and the MEB.

“We can only welcome this government initiative,” commented Michel Dotta. “We are used to signing agreements abroad as part of the follow-up on our operations. Signing agreements of this sort in Monaco with targeted organisations gives new impetus to our work promoting bilateral investments for the long-term.” Regards the signing with Italy being a first, he says: “It seemed to us an obvious beginning as Italian-Monegasque relations are so strong. Italy, reclassified in a positive direction last month by COFACE and with an economy centred on Europe and therefore less exposed to international risks, is an important partner for Monaco.”

For Niccolò Caissotti di Chiusano: “The three of us have been working on this agreement for a long time now on behalf of our associations. We are delighted to have the support of the Monaco Government. It is very much in line with our development objectives, particularly with regards to coordinating events that bring Italian and Monegasque players together.”

Fabrizio Carbone: “This signing with the MEB formalizes the close ties that our associations have forged over the years and we are delighted. We will be able to take advantage of the MEB’s networks which will legitimize our actions in the Principality, and they in turn will benefit from our contacts in Italy. So it’s a win-win situation.”
