MEB steps up local networking and doubles its B2B sessions
True to its commitment to strengthen its local outreach, the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) brought together over 80 decision-makers representing around sixty Monegasque companies on Thursday, 21 May, at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. This exclusive B2B meeting session generated more than one hundred one-to-one business meetings. An effective formula that appeals to participants and will now be held twice a year.
For this latest edition, and for the second time, the MEB capitalised on a strategic format: completely separating the B2B session from its traditional “Members’ Meeting” networking drinks. This operational choice proved its worth by extending the event's overall duration. Participants were thus able to benefit from more frequent, longer meetings, with each appointment extended from 10 to 15 minutes, thereby optimising the quality of exchanges.
The strength of this session also stemmed from the wide diversity and complementarity of the sectors represented (hospitality and catering, events, banking, legal services, communications, and digital technologies). Timed exchanges brought together participants who had specifically come to meet, discuss business, and get straight to the point. Thanks to the MEB teams' responsiveness, the inevitable, rare last-minute cancellations were immediately offset by impromptu on-site meetings. Participants also proactively made the most of informal opportunities to connect with one another.
At the end of the scheduled programme, a cocktail on the terrace of the hotel’s Salle America offered participants a pleasant and relaxed setting in which to build on initial contacts in a more informal – though no less effective – atmosphere.
With its renewed focus on serving as a chamber of commerce, the MEB has committed to providing more practical tools for its members. Two B2B sessions of this kind will now be organised each year. Local entrepreneurs are already invited to meet again in the second half of the year for the next edition.
