MEBinar - Guinea, West Africa's new economic powerhouse?

17/06/2026

Jointly organized by the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) and the Club of Monégasque Entrepreneurs in Africa (CEMA) — under the leadership of Guillaume Rose, Frédéric Geerts, and Patrick Lecoy —, an exclusive MEBinar highlighted the profound economic transformation of the Republic of Guinea. This event brought together distinguished guests: Namory Camara and M’Bemba Sylla from the Guinea Development Board (GDB), as well as Abdoulaye Keita, First Counselor at the Embassy of Guinea in France.

Traditionally recognized for its mining wealth, Guinea is now deploying an ambitious strategic vision through its "Simandou 2040" program. Backed by nearly $200 billion in investments, this plan aims to diversify the national economy beyond mining by boosting industrialization, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. With projected growth potentially reaching 10% over the 2026–2029 period, the country positions itself as one of the most dynamic drivers of growth in West Africa.

Thanks to major reforms designed to secure the business environment and guarantee stability for investors, the Guinea Development Board is actively inviting Monégasque companies to partner in this historic development to build shared prosperity.
