Monaco and Poland Strengthen Economic Ties
On Thursday, October 9, the Monaco Economic Board (MEB), together with the Monaco Embassy in Poland, Germany, and Austria, hosted an economic forum at the Marius restaurant. This event was held in partnership with the Polish Chamber of Commerce.
The event started with opening remarks from H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Ravano, Monaco's Ambassador, and Mr. Alessandro Giuliani, Honorary Consul of Poland to Monaco. The leaders of the two chambers of commerce, Mr. Guillaume Rose and Mr. Justin Highman from Monaco, and Mr. Jerzy Drozdz from Poland, then outlined their countries' economic strengths, emphasising opportunities for bilateral cooperation. A dedicated presentation on Monaco's green economy was given by Mr. Eric Villalonga, President of Monaco's Chamber of Renewable Energy and Ecology.
This was succeeded by a lively series of approximately fifty targeted business meetings between Polish entrepreneurs and interested representatives from Monegasque companies. The sectors involved were diverse, covering business consulting, renewable energy, aeronautics, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, yachting, the drone sector, and international recruitment.
The B2B session, which was full of valuable exchanges, was enhanced by informal networking opportunities, especially during the closing lunch. On the sidelines of the forum, the Polish entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to learn about two key institutions in Monaco: the MonacoTech start-up accelerator and the Monaco Scientific Centre.
This event follows the MEB's economic mission to Poland, organised one year ago. It reaffirms the ongoing exchange between Monaco and a country that has become one of Europe's economic powerhouses, with an average GDP growth of nearly 4% between 2013 and 2022.
