Monaco Economic Board members on a business trip to Zurich: the Principality seeking valuable exchanges

16/03/2026

From 11 to 13 March 2026, the Monaco Economic Board carried out its first economic mission of the year in Zurich, Switzerland, bringing together 21 companies and 26 Monegasque representatives, mainly from the financial and legal sectors. This trip clearly confirmed the strong potential for developing economic relations between the two countries.

The mission received substantial support from the diplomatic network, in particular from H.E. Mrs Carole Lantéri, Ambassador of Monaco to Switzerland, as well as from Monaco’s Honorary Consul in Zurich, Mrs Hélène Faggionato-Knight, and in the presence of the Honorary Consul General in Bern, Mr Eric de Graffenried, and the Honorary Consul in Lugano, Mr Giacomo Carlo Talleri.

To crown it all, Mr Luca Comparato, Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Monaco and a distinguished MEB member, joined the trip in a dual capacity, and his active participation helped to give concrete form to the alignment between diplomacy and business, to the benefit of the Principality’s delegation.

After receiving a comprehensive overview of the Swiss economy and its opportunities from the France-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Suisse), followed by presentations from the Swiss Business Hub with Switzerland Global Enterprise and then Mirabaud Group bank, the delegation had the opportunity to attend a major Monegasque-Swiss cultural event.

The co-production between the Zurich Opera and the Opéra de Monte-Carlo of Handel’s “Giulio Cesare in Egitto” welcomed the Principality’s entrepreneurs and their clients to a breathtaking performance that same evening. The triumphant Cleopatra of this magical evening was none other than Cecilia Bartoli, Director of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo.

The following day, after several presentations, including one by Ludmilla Raconnat Le Goff, Delegate for Attractiveness, the MEB signed a memorandum of understanding with CCI France Suisse, marking a new step forward in the development of economic relations between the two countries.

This agreement was swiftly given concrete form through an intensive sequence of B2B meetings between Swiss and Monegasque entrepreneurs, lawyers and bankers, fostering the exchange of best practices and the emergence of new business opportunities. The Monaco Chamber of Renewable Energies was a very welcome addition to the sectors represented. A convivial lunch further convinced all participants of the value of this professional rapprochement.

The mission concluded with a visit to the Switzerland Innovation Park in Zurich, an immersion in the watchmaking industry at Jaeger-LeCoultre and Panerai, and finally a dinner at the Baur au Lac hotel, which provided one last opportunity to strengthen ties among members of the delegation.

All in all, this successful trip once again helped to build new, concrete bridges between two economic ecosystems, to the benefit of all.
