41ST MEMBERS RENDEZVOUS ALL ABOUT NETWORKING !

20/06/2022

The 41st Members Rendezvous was held at the Monte Carlo Beach on Monday 20 June in two halves, starting with a packed agenda of quick fire B2B meetings between entrepreneurs, then a networking cocktail round the pool, introduced by Jean Castellini and Frédéric Genta who spoke on the theme of country attractiveness.

From 5.30pm, around a hundred MEB business leader members were seated at their tables, a timer set for 10 minute discussions that got straight to the point. For an hour, more than 120 face-to-face meetings exploring new opportunities took place, with the MEB team on hand to keep the momentum going and manage those spontaneous connections that inevitably arise on these occasions.

An always much appreciated session, this one was the launch pad for the networking cocktail, attended by over 300 from the business community, enjoying the idyllic setting of the large terrace by the pool at the Monte Carlo Beach

After a brief welcome speech by MEB Executive Director General Guillaume Rose, Chairman Michel Dotta introduced Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy, and Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Officer of Attractiveness and the Digital Transition, and this from the pool’s top diving board!

Delighted by a great start to the tourist season, the Minister spoke of the key role played in Monaco’s attractiveness by the administration teams “who know what it’s like to be in business and are at your side to help you expand”. He also underlined the role of the National Council who, with the Government, “update legislative provisions with the same attention to detail to ensure the Principality adapts to realities of the 21 st century”, concluding that "Monaco’s attractiveness is what you entrepreneurs, ladies and gentlemen, generate every day”.

For Frédéric Genta: “Monaco has a powerful model in a changing world”. Recalling the work being put into the digital and energy transitions, and tensions of the international situation, he announced that he had “some good news: There has never been a better period in history to be a small state, because in the world we live in, it takes both vision and agility”. Qualities already well established in Monaco, thanks to the MEB says Frédéric Genta describing it as “an asset that enables the Principality to gain influence, to welcome new investors and residents, and to share and facilitate as it is doing this evening”.

A remark reflected in the reception that followed as Monaco’s business community took full advantage of an ideal social environment to exchange business cards in a friendly yet always professional setting.
