Constructive MEB meeting with Business Development Agency

03/07/2020

Monaco Economic Board was welcomed by the Business Development Agency’s (DEE) Director Serge Pierryves and his colleagues for a meeting to better understand the roles of each organisation and look at how the two could collaborate more closely.

As part of its mission to find investors, MEB has to be up to speed on the formalities and procedures for setting up a company in Monaco. While the Welcome Office, which reports to the DEE (Direction Expansion Economique), is the main point of contact for MEB, it is equally important to strengthen ties with other departments that are in contact with new arrivals.

The meeting also discussed other elements involved in the life of a company including development assistance, such as grants and finance from funds like EUREKA to equity investments by the State for innovative projects set up in the Principality. These are just some of the instruments MEB promotes abroad to potential investors, and to members who are not always aware of them.

Lastly, the visit was an opportunity to discuss how companies had fared during the health crisis and its consequences. It proved a very constructive dialogue highlighting the robust nature of the Monegasque economy and discussing ways to promote the Principality’s capacity for recovery and its resilience.

For MEB CEO, Guillaume Rose: “It is essential for MEB teams to know how the various admin departments who are in contact with Monaco’s business community operate, to understand their role and the people involved so they in turn can assist and point our members in the right direction if necessary. It is also a knowledge base for promoting a modernised administration serving companies in the Principality.”
